The South Bend Cubs opened up their newly renovated field with a 5 to 3 win over the Peoria Chiefs. It started out rough for the Cubs who were down 2 to 0 in the 6th inning, but as the sun set the runs ran up for South Bend who scored 5 in that inning. Cubs achieved their first win of the season.
